Homebodii Bride of the Month: Paris-Rose

My name is Paris-Rose, and on September 6, 2024, I married my best friend, Ty, after nearly 12 years together. We celebrated our love at the breathtaking Redleaf property in the Hunter Valley, inspired by the charm of Tuscany—it was truly the most magical weekend! A little about us: we both work in the construction industry and are based on the Gold Coast, where we grew up. Funnily enough, Ty was my brother’s best friend (who would’ve guessed, right?). We also have a fur baby, Juni, who completes our little family. Here’s a fun fact: my best friend Sam and I are engaged/married to brothers! We all work together within Unique Built, which makes for a fun, family-like work environment that’s never boring.

Our approach to planning the wedding was to have fun, enjoy the process, and not stress out! We also had an amazing wedding planner/stylist @yourdaybychloe who we couldn't recommend more! We were so determined not to get lost in the whirlwind that comes with planning the event, and stay focused on the real meaning of the day - our love and the love for all the most important people in our lives celebrating with us! When things did get stressful or a bit overwhelming, we did a good job of reminding each other of that in the lead-up and on the day itself.

Looking back on the day, we’re so glad we decided to put the time into finding the best musicians we know would fit the feels we were going for as Ty used to be a DJ back in a past life.  Part of that also included adding a sax player at the last minute. I think sometimes the music can get overlooked, but it really is crazy how much it can impact the feeling and set the tone of an event. When it's off, it's really off, but when it's good, it's REALLY good! When it was time to cry we all cried, when it was time to laugh we all laughed, and when it was time to dance we all danced. That extra live element of the Sax player kept us (and our guests) on the dance floor all night long too!

The most unexpected part of the day was that everything went exactly to plan! You hear so many stories of last-minute changes or things 'not going the way you planned'. We promised each other we wouldn't worry about any of that stuff and just have the best time with each other and our guests no matter what. We were so blessed that it all came together perfectly and are so grateful for that.

When I look back on the day now, I feel so happy and grateful! It was truly the wedding of our dreams, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Looking at photos puts us right back in the state we were at the time and you can't help but smile. The memories and moments will stay with us forever, it was beautiful.

My advice to new brides sounds so cliche but I think it's so important, and that is to try not to get overwhelmed during the planning process—ENJOY YOUR BRIDAL ERA! It's such a special time in your lives and to be present. So many people told me to slow down and take it all in because it goes by so quickly—and they were absolutely right! I'd also say - don't overthink the 'stuff'. Don't get me wrong, the wedding itself was beautiful and what we'd dreamed of (The dress, the suits, the styling, the venue etc), but it was actually the people, the energy and all the special magical moments that made it perfect.

My bridesmaids and I began the morning in the beautiful Eva Lounge Pyjama Set, the perfect blend of comfort and elegance. We then slipped into the stunning Helena robes, which were simply perfect. I wanted to give them something special that they could keep and wear again, along with a personalised letter handkerchief. It truly was the most fun and meaningful morning with my girls.
