My name is Nhi Ly, I live in Melbourne with my husband. I am a huge food lover with an obsession with baked goods and ice cream!

Our approach to planning the wedding was…

To lock in a date and book in our venue as soon as possible so we can book in the rest of our vendors! We kept our wedding simple but also had everything reflect who we are as a couple. We focused on making it fun for not only ourselves, but also our guests. 

Looking back we’re so glad that we…

Didn’t say no to things we wanted and decided to just say yes to things we were “umming and ahhing” about. We’re so glad we did them all instead of maybe now sitting here questioning the “what ifs”. We only plan on getting married once, so may as well do it right!

The most unexpected part of the day was…

Wasn’t the wedding day, but the day after. The post-wedding comedown was real. We were overwhelmed with happiness from everything we’d just experienced, yet equally upset knowing our day had come to an end. 

When I look back now, I feel…

Sooooo happy! I loved every part of our wedding. I feel so proud and accomplished of all the hard work and planning that we both did. It was all worth it!

My advice to new brides…

Take your time planning your wedding, there’s nothing wrong with having a long engagement! Give yourself that time to plan things properly and not feel rushed. Enjoy the planning process and have that extra time to save up more money and have that dream wedding of yours! Also enjoy your wedding day, remember to have fun on the day and don’t fixate on the small things, they honestly don’t matter.
