Homebodii Bride of the Month: Mady Vest

A little bit about me…

I’m from Louisville, KY originally and moved to Nashville, TN in 2020. I met my now husband through a group of mutual friends in 2021 and we have been together ever since. We got engaged at Point Dume in Malibu on August 2024 and got married in Nashville in September 2025. We love to hike, travel, shop (mainly me but he comes along) and just spend time together. We are looking forward to building a beautiful future together!

Our approach to planning…

I had dreamt of my wedding since I was a little girl. It is a day I had looked forward to my whole life and my style had stayed pretty consistent. I knew I wanted it to be elegant and classic with a touch of country. I knew I also wanted it to be an experience for everyone who attended too! We went with a lot of linen signage, white florals, hanging ivy in the barn, and since we only had a DJ we had our good friend play music during cocktail hour. We didn’t want this day to be just about us, but about everyone coming together to see us say our vows and celebrate. We just wanted everything to feel so lively and magical for everyone involved.

Looking back on the day we are so glad that we…

Hired a saxophone player to play along with our DJ. He was so amazing! He started playing at dinner, surprising all the guests and stayed throughout the reception. People still talk about how fun he was! He was dancing with everyone while playing his sax. He could also play any song without even knowing it prior. It was just such a good and fun decision. We also gave everyone mini tambourines which was a big hit as well.

The most unexpected part of the day was…

My dad and I were supposed to dance to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra but he surprised me with “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder and my brother played the harmonica to it. People raved about it, it was so fun!

When I look back on the day now I feel…

So incredibly lucky to have married my best friend in front of so many of our loved ones. It truly was the best day of our lives and I wish I could relive it a thousand times over.

A word of advice to new brides would be...

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Everything will come together perfectly, just the way it was meant to be. It can be easy to forget during the planning process, but this day is truly about you and your loved one getting to spend the rest of your lives together! You only get this day once. Make the most of it. Make it magical!
