Homebodii Bride of the Month: Emmy Reanne
We knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together when ….
I knew the moment we got home from our first date. I still remember telling my best friend that my cheeks were so sore from smiling the entire time. Looking back on the day we are so glad that we… Took the time to take moments throughout the day, where we were really present and taking in the surroundings. It was so special to see all our favourite people in one spot. It felt like magic.
The styling details that I loved were…
Our fabric signs. I ended up making these myself and I was so so proud of how they turned out. I love that we got to make them super personal and reflect our vision for the day. My beautiful bridesmaids and Mumma jumped onboard the night before to finish them off, which created a special core memory that I’ll cherish forever. We also had the most BEAUTIFUL florals that blew my mind. They were colourful but romantic and seeing how our flower fairy had created these elements made the day feel even more magical.
The most unexpected part of the day was…
When Danny (groom) cried during our vows. I’m normally a huge crier and I was just so full of excited energy that I managed to make it through without a tear. Danny however cried (a lot), which is incredibly unusual for him but made me feel even more special. It also pulled on so many heart strings so it’s fair to say our ceremony was incredibly emotional for quite a few people.
The most unexpected part of the day was…
How fast everything went by! We’d been told that, but it still surprised us. Every moment felt like a blur of love and happiness. That’s why it’s so important to truly enjoy every moment with the people you love—dance, celebrate, and have fun, because the day goes by in the blink of an eye.
When I look back now, I feel…
So grateful—for the love we celebrated, the people who surrounded us, and the little details that made the day uniquely ours. You can truly feel the love of the people around you.
When I look back on the day now I feel….
So excited that I got to marry my best friend. So much happens throughout the day and it feels like a blurry dream for some parts. I will never forget how happy and loved I felt though, and having that to look back on feels like the biggest gift in life.
A word of advice to new brides would be…
Slow down and romanticise the whole experience, including the planning. Celebrate all the steps, like sending out save the dates, a monthly countdown dinner date, locking in the dress, making a playlist together and dancing around the house to it. The actual day flies by so slow down where you can and make the most of all those special little moments leading into the day and celebrate them with your soon to be husband/wife.
My Homebodii moment was special because..
I felt like royalty. The minute I tried on this gown, I fell in love with it. I remember standing in the changerooms with it on and would you believe it- but our first dance song started to play over the speakers. It was such a surreal moment. I felt elegant and feminine and so comfortable too. Being able to wear this on one of the most special mornings of my life was perfect. Now I get to have it as a special keepsake too
