Homebodii Bride of the Month: Ashe Hornsby

A little bit about me...

I’m Ashe — recently turned 40. I’m a mum to three busy tween boys and just married for a second time, after becoming a widow at 31. The last decade has been a wild ride — full of growth, grief, love, wine and everything in between. My hubby, Eden, and I have been through it all- both losing our loved ones, blending our families, overcoming challenges and are now building our dream home in beautiful Tallebudgera. Entering our 40’s era as Husband and Wife, we hope for this next chapter to be our favourite and the rest is still unwritten.

Our approach to planning the wedding was…

When it came to planning our wedding, our focus was simplicity. Being our second time around, we knew exactly what mattered to us. We wanted the day to feel calm, meaningful, and about our little family.

Looking back, we’re so glad that we…

Chose to elope. Our intimate ceremony was perfect — everything our family needed.

The most unforgettable part of the day was…

Came when we announced our elopement at my 40th birthday a week later in front of all our loved ones. Seeing the pure shock and joy on their faces is something we’ll never forget. When I reflect on that day, I feel complete. It’s been a journey to reach a place where I felt truly at peace with marrying again — and now, I can honestly say it feels right in every way.

When I look back now, I feel…

I feel complete. It’s been a journey to reach a place where I felt truly at peace with marrying again — and now, I can honestly say it feels right in every way.

My advice to new brides is…

Don’t be afraid to do it your way. It’s your day, the only opinions that matter are yours.. Life is meant to be lived, and you are meant to love and be loved.

My Homebodii moment was special because…

For the first time, I wore Homebodii as a bride — not a bridesmaid. When I first got married, Homebodii didn’t exist, but over the years I’ve built quite the collection

(I’m the ultimate Homebodii girl and basically live in my PJs). Adding those beautiful white pieces to my collection felt sentimental and symbolic — like a full-circle moment. And as we eloped, it was very fun going into the store and having everything beautifully gift wrapped for me and my bestie but not being able to tell the truth for who or what it was for.

And if you’re wondering about the gown — it was a made-to-order piece by Alamour The Label. I didn’t wear white at my first wedding so white was a must this time and I wanted simple, elegant, and timeless.

(Ashe wore the Sian Slip - White with Blush Lace and the matching Sian Robe.)
