Homebodii Bride of the Month: Agatha Wichert

A little bit about me:

I’m Agatha, a proud mum of two. When I’m not busy looking after my children, I’m a content creator currently managing our home renovations. In August, Troy and I tied the knot in beautiful Broome, celebrating with an intimate three-day gathering that I’ll cherish forever!

Our approach to planning the wedding was…

to focus on creating a small, intimate celebration, which is why we chose a destination wedding in Broome. It was the perfect escape from winter, with stunning beaches and a family-friendly vibe. We envisioned a beach ceremony followed by a cocktail-style reception.

We took our time planning due to COVID-19 uncertainties. Initially, we considered the family farm but ultimately felt Broome was ideal. Broome holds special significance for Troy and his family; his father, Alan Linney, founded Linneys Jewellery in 1972, showcasing Australia’s pearls. Our connection runs deep—we celebrated our first holiday there, Alan’s 70th birthday, and our son George’s first birthday. It felt natural to tie the knot in a place rich with personal history.

Leading up to the wedding, we visited Broome several times to explore vendors. The Billi Resort was perfect for our intimate reception, and we chose the striking white sand of Cable Beach for our ceremony. The low tide offered a wonderfully private spot for our vows, despite the tourist activity.

Overall, managing such a special project was incredible. On the day itself, I felt surprisingly calm, and all the planning truly paid off.

Looking back on the day we are so glad that we…

had a destination wedding. It allowed us to enjoy quality time with our nearest and dearest for three wonderful days. We especially loved that our family and bridal party arrived a day earlier, which gave Troy and me the chance to have a beautiful pre-wedding photoshoot on the Thursday before the big event. We took bridal party and family photos at Gantheaume Beach, followed by an intimate session just for us at Gantheaume Point. This serene time together was a lovely way for us to connect and soak in the excitement before the wedding celebrations began.

The most unexpected part of the day was…

the magical atmosphere during our ceremony. Although Broome typically enjoys clear blue skies, the weather that day was quite dramatic. As I walked down the aisle, the sun shone brightly, but then clouds rolled in, creating a moody backdrop that kept us cool and added a unique, dynamic element to the scene.

Another surprising and heartwarming moment was how the kids handled their roles. Isabella, our flower girl, performed her duties perfectly, and George confidently walked me to Troy. This was especially meaningful for me since my father, George, has passed away; having my son George help me down the aisle was incredibly special. They both were well-behaved and had a lot of fun, making the moment even more memorable for our family.

When I look back on the day now I feel…

content and incredibly happy. It was everything I had hoped for and more. The day was filled with love, and having our children be a part of it made it even more special. We will all treasure this milestone forever.

The beach ceremony was truly magical. Seeing Isabella and I walk down the aisle brought immense joy to Troy, and the sky provided a stunning backdrop. Sharing our heartfelt vows brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Our grand entrance into the reception, complete with music and cold sparks, really set the tone for a fun-filled evening. The highlight of the night was watching the kids dance—it was such a special moment for all of us.

A word of advice to new brides would be…

to stay true to yourselves. It’s easy to get caught up in what others expect, but remember that this day is about you two. Don’t be afraid to make choices that feel right for you, even if they go against tradition. Also, keep to a budget—things can add up quickly! The day goes by so fast, and what your guests will truly remember is the love they felt and that there was enough food and drink to enjoy!

My Homebodii moment was special because I wore…

a beautiful PJ set that was both gorgeous and incredibly comfy to start my day.

We spent the morning at an old Pearling Masters Residence, a traditional Broome pearler’s cottage owned by a family friend. The charming setting and beautiful gardens provided a relaxing backdrop for my bridesmaids and me as we got ready together, celebrating in our robes while sipping champagne and soaking in the moment. It felt so glam yet so comfortable—perfect for creating lasting memories before the ceremony!

The atmosphere was filled with laughter, excitement, and a sense of togetherness, making it a truly memorable start to our wedding. As we shared stories and supported each other in our preparations, I felt the love and joy surrounding us, setting the perfect tone for the celebration ahead.

Agatha's bridal look

Agatha’s bridal morning began in the relaxed elegance of the Emilie Pyjama Set, the perfect choice as she sat back and let her hair and makeup team work their magic. Once ready, she changed into the stunning Brooklyn Bodysuit in white, paired with the Marié Lace Robe from the Couture Luxury Robe Collection, adding a layer of bridal sophistication. Her bridesmaids, equally radiant, wore the Sian Lace Slip and matching Sian Short Robe, creating a beautiful, coordinated look that exuded timeless charm and luxury.
